Tower of Faith Evangelistic Church

Our Heritage of Tower of Faith Evangelistic Church

The opening services of Tower of Faith Church were held in February 1972 as an outreach ministry known as the Tower of Faith Gospel Crusade, which was then located on the corner of Vernon and Harvard. The Tower of Faith Gospel Crusade held services on Saturday nights. Later, the location was moved to King’s Chapel, located at 21st and Griffith.

Dr. Reuben P. Anderson is the founder and current pastor of the Tower of Faith Church. The Lord revealed to Pastor Anderson that he should establish the ministry permanently in December, 1972. At this time the worship services were being held at the Seventh Day Adventist church located at Laurel and Santa Fe. The church consisted of 15 members seven adults and eight children. The Lord led Pastor Anderson to conduct a Tent Revival from July 4 to August 4, 1973. There were fifty (50) professions of faith and thirty (30) people were added to the church family.

The Church moved to our present location in August, 1973 and a formal dedication was conducted by the late Bishop J.A. Blake, who was the presiding Bishop of Southern California First Jurisdiction. Much growth occurred during the following years:

– What We Believe –

  • We believe the Bible to be the inspired and only infallible Word of God.
  • We believe that there is only one God eternally existent in three persons; God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit.
  • We believe in the blessed hope, which is the rapture of the Church of God, which is in Christ at His return.
  • We believe that the only means of being cleansed from sin is through repentance: faith in the precious blood of Jesus Christ and being baptized in water.
  • We believe that regeneration by the Holy Ghost is absolutely essential for personal salvation.
  • We believe that the redemptive work of Christ on the cross provides healing for the human body in answer to believing in prayer.
  • We believe that the redemptive work of Christ on the cross provides healing for the human body in answer to believing in prayer.
  • We believe in the sanctifying power of the Holy Spirit, by whose indwelling, the Christian is enabled to live a Holy and separated life in this present world.
  • We believe in the second coming of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, and that He shall reign with power and glory and that in the rapture of the church, we shall be united with Him forever.
  • We believe in celebrating the Lord’s Supper as an ordinance, in memory of the death and resurrection of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, according to His instructions.
  • We believe in administering baptism in water as an ordinance according to the instructions of Christ.

Our Bible Proclamation

This is my Bible, God’s Holy Word. It is now speaking to me. Therefore I proclaim:

I am who it says I am. I can do what it says I can do. I can be what it says I can be, and I can have what is says I can have.

Through the power of the Holy Spirit, I will obey its commands and receive its truth for victorious living.
